As college students, we can give our time and our boundless energy to the Democratic Party. We certainly did during the Obama campaign, registering 11,000 of our fellow students at UCF to vote. Thousands of doors were knocked on during Fall of 2008. The phone calls we made were countless. Since November 4th, College Democrats from UCF have been on the ground in the special elections in Georgia and Virginia. We’ve made calls into even more. Our organization has actively taken up the call from Organizing for America to drive the President’s domestic agenda forward.

Now we are in 2010, and we have to renew our focus on Florida. At the top of the ticket, Alex Sink has a very real chance to take the Governor’s Mansion. Kendrick Meek is poised to steal a Senate seat from the Republicans in Tallahassee. Supporting our local Democratic candidates is equally important. Nothing would make the College Democrats at UCF prouder than to have Democratic representation in the State House.

Clearly, there is much work to do. Fortunately, work is not something that the College Democrats at UCF are familiar with. We need your help in this effort. We hope that you will stand with us.
